Affiliate Disclosure
FTC disclosure:Bedrocka Tools participates in affiliate and referral programs. When you click a link or sign up through a partner we mention, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only partner with products we've independently evaluated and would recommend to a friend. Affiliate revenue does not influence calculator logic or editorial content.
How we pick partners
Every partner we list has been through an internal evaluation: founder-team review of the actual product, a read of their public terms, and a check of their market reputation against installer review platforms. We decline partnerships from products we wouldn't use ourselves or wouldn't recommend to a peer — commission rate is never the tiebreaker. This is especially important on a solar site: the installer-quote lead aggregator market has well-documented incentive conflicts where CPL economics push recommendations toward high-commission installers rather than best-fit installers. We do not operate that way.
Our affiliate cards are labeled “Editorial pick · Affiliate partner” and always carry the short-form disclosure inline with the card so you never have to infer that a recommendation is monetized.
Editorial independence
Calculator logic — the formulas, the DSIRE incentive values, the NREL production estimates, the EIA utility rate assumptions, the 25-year NPV projections — is the same regardless of whether a partner would prefer a different output. If a partner ever asks us to tune a calculator to favor their product, we end the partnership, publicly. Editorial recommendations in our articles are based on our own judgment and the underlying primary sources, not on what generates the highest commission.

Partner categories on this site
The affiliate and referral relationships relevant to Solar Math Pro fall into the following categories. Active partners are listed in the partner table above; this section documents the category logic.
- Solar quote comparison platforms— EnergySage (energysage.com) via their publisher program is our primary affiliate in this category. Per Vikram Aggarwal, EnergySage CEO (EnergySage Solar Marketplace Report 2024), solar shoppers who get multiple quotes save 20% on average. Our recommendation is based on marketplace depth, installer quality verification standards, and transparency of quote comparison — not on EnergySage's CPL rate. We are not the same as an installer-affiliated lead gen site; we link to quote platforms as a next step after the math shows solar makes sense, not as the entry point designed to generate installer revenue.
- Solar review and installer directory platforms — SolarReviews (solarreviews.com) is evaluated for installer-finding content. Per Andrew Sendy, SolarReviews Founder, installer quality and verified review volume are the primary recommendation criteria — not installer commission rate. We note clearly that any installer directory is one input into your evaluation, not a substitute for your own due diligence.
- Managed solar service platforms— Palmetto Solar is evaluated as an affiliate for managed solar service content (Palmetto's model includes ongoing monitoring and maintenance bundled with the system). Recommendations are based on service model fit for the reader's situation, not commission rate.
- Display advertising— Mediavine Journey serves display ads on this site in the home-improvement and energy niche. Display ads are labeled “Advertisement” on every page. Mediavine does not have access to editorial content, calculator logic, or methodology. Ad content is served programmatically.
- Installer direct references — major national installers (Sunrun, SunPower, Tesla Energy) do not operate traditional publisher affiliate programs with non-installer sites. Where we reference them, it is as editorial examples with no commission relationship. We will disclose clearly if this ever changes.
Revenue transparency
The two primary revenue streams for this site are display advertising (Mediavine Journey, home-improvement niche) and the affiliate partnerships listed above. Together they fund the development of new calculators, the quarterly source reviews, and the ongoing maintenance of DSIRE incentive data. We do not accept sponsored posts, sponsored calculator placements, or paid-for editorial content. If that ever changes, we will add a visible disclosure on the specific page and update this policy.
